On January 20,
2010 after much discussion and deliberation by the Board, the Board
voted 8-1 to accept the recommendation of the bid review team and the
Bigelow Companies to allow the Authority staff to enter into a 30-day
negotiation period with Rojo Hospitality Group.
The Authority’s
goals for the RFP process were to maintain or improve the current
level of service and the current financial deal and performance
standards enjoyed by two building partners- the Fiesta Bowl and
Arizona Cardinals and to provide financial assistance for the
Authority.
The Authority is
committed to operating the stadium in a financially sound manner and
to insure the stadium’s viability so that it may continue to be a
resource and economic driver for the citizens of Maricopa County.
