AZSTA Board of Directors approve $54 million in funding for new Glendale Spring Training Complex and approve the NFL Super Bowl XLII License Agreement
(August 16, 2007) - The Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority (AZSTA) Board of Directors met Wednesday, August 15th and approved two agreements with enormous economic implications for the Valley of the Sun: 1) the Board gave final approval to an intergovernmental agreement with Glendale to provide $54 million in funding for a new Cactus League Spring Training Complex, that will be the new training site for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox; and 2) the Board approved the National Football League License Agreement for Super Bowl XLII, which will be played on February 3, 2008.

AZSTA Awards $2,500 to Arizona Flames Track Club
(Apr. 30, 2007) – AZSTA has granted $2,500 to the Arizona Flames Track Club to support the organization’s efforts to develop individuals’ physical and emotional health. The Arizona Flames are a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) and is a member of USA Track and Field. It is headquartered in Chandler and currently serves approximately 80 athletes with training, practices and meets.

Fiesta Bowl Festival of College Football Reaches a Record Economic Impact of $401.7 Million: Tostitos BCS National Championship Game Boosts Arizona Economy by a Record $171.5 Million
(Apr. 26, 2007) – The 2006-07 Fiesta Bowl Festival of College Football generated an overall economic impact of $401.7 million, with the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game alone resulting in a record economic impact of $171.5 million, according to a study by the W. P. Carey Sports Business Program at Arizona State University.

Faculty researchers surveyed out-of-state visitors who attended four Fiesta Bowl events: the Insight Bowl, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Fiesta Bowl National Band Championship, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game. Organizational spending associated with these events also impacted the Arizona economy, resulting in the record economic impact of $401.7 million.

Phoenix Career Expo May 16th at Stadium
(Apr. 26, 2007) -- Jobing.com, a leading Phoenix provider of locally-focused job search and recruiting services designed to connect local employers and job seekers, will host its Phoenix Career Expo at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Wed., May 16 from 12 Noon - 5 p.m. The high-visibility event will draw over 300 employers and 7,500 job seekers. Attendees at the expo will be able to meet with highly recognizable employers such as Bank of America, Cox Communications, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Mayo Clinic, and the University of Phoenix. In addition, job seekers will have the opportunity for personal development through free, informative workshops and resume review services. Career Expo attendance is free for all job seekers.

AZSTA Workshops Reach out to Youth Sports Grant Applicants:
Sessions designed to help Valley groups seeking $2.25 million in awards
(Apr. 19, 2007) – Representatives from Valley schools, non-profits and municipalities attended two workshops this month designed to help them tap into funds for youth and amateur sports projects. More than 150 people attended the workshops Apr. 9 and 12 put on by the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority (AZSTA) which is awarding $2.25 million in grants this year.

Assistive Listening Devices
As a service to our guests who are hearing impaired, the University of Phoenix Stadium has been equipped with an assistive listening system and mobile captioning device. The service provides real-time captions and assistive listening for most public address announcements, and it provides audio description for the play by play action. The handheld devices are available for check out at the Guest Services booth located behind section 103 near gate 1. Please call 623-433-7120, at least two weeks in advance, to confirm that assistive listening devices are available for the event you will be attending.

Sign Language Interpreters
University of Phoenix Stadium is happy to make arrangements for interpretive services for our hearing impaired guests. Interpreters can be arranged by contacting our Guest Services Department at 623-433-7120. Requests should be made a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the event.

Disabled Cart Service
A courtesy cart service is available at cardinals games to disabled fans from disabled parking areas to the stadium plaza security checkpoints. These carts are for disabled fans and one companion only. The carts will only take fans to the closest entrance. There is no cart service available inside University of Phoenix Stadium. The cart service will be available two hours prior to the game until one hour following the conclusion of the game. Fans should wait at the large red numbers and letters outside of the gates for carts to meet them when exiting. 

Disabled Parking
All Sportsman’s Park carparks and other Cardinals game day parking lots have signed disabled parking spots over 2,000 in all. Vehicles must have a valid Cardinals parking hangtag to enter these parking areas. Please contact the Arizona Cardinals Box Office at (602) 379-0102 for more information.  For mega events, including the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, please contact the respective organization in charge of the event.

Disabled Seating
Disabled seating is located on all three concourses at University of Phoenix Stadium, including all lofts and field boxes. All levels can be accessed by the elevators located near the five stadium entrance locations. One power outlet is available at each disabled seating platform for the use of guests with electric wheelchairs and other medical equipment.

Payphones/TDD Phone
University of Phoenix Stadium does not have any payphones available to fans. However, fans can request the use of a phone at any of the four Guest Services locations if needed. A TDD phone for hearing and speech impaired fans is located at the Guest Services office next to Gate #1.

Restrooms
There are 77 restrooms located throughout University of Phoenix Stadium. All men, women and family restrooms are ADA accessible and equipped with a baby-changing table.
